Rangel Holds Fast, Will Hire Accountant
Though his financial dealings have become a national issue, Charlie Rangel has no plans to step down as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, reports the New York Post. He has, however, announced plans to hire a "national forensic accounting specialist," says Web CPA, to help untangle his dealings and holdings, to which he has previously claimed to pay scant interest.
He has also referred his case, involving real estate holdings, sponsored trips, and use of official stationery, to the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, Politico reports.
