Special Report from the U.S. Open

Categories: Featured, Sports

tennisguy.jpgWe have received a report from a spectator at Tuesday night's U.S. Open in Queens. To her surprise, "You can smoke on the grounds and IN the stadium. I guess in Bloomberg's world, if you can afford Dunhills or Nat Shermans it's perfectly acceptable to smoke... I never saw so many Black and Gold butts in one place."

Our correspondent says the racial mix of the crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium was roughly 200:1 white. She saw perhaps two dozen people of Hispanic descent, including Fernando Gonzalez, who was playing Andy Roddick.

Roddick won the match, or whatever it's called, 6-2, 6-4, 6-1. You can see a report here if such things interest you.
