Cell-Phone Lawbreakers Rejoice! Free Headsets for Offenders

celldrive.jpgIn New York it's against the law to use a cell phone while driving. If you've been busted for it, headsets.com wants to take some of the sting out of your fine: send them a copy of the ticket, and they'll send you a free Bluetooth headset while supplies last.

But be warned: headsets.com CEO Mike Faith doesn't sound sure using his product on the road is such a great idea. "We'd rather that people didn't take calls while driving, hands-free or not," says Faith. "There's just no way you can chat on the phone and keep the same attention on the road." We suppose this is like those "For Entertainment Purposes Only" used by astrologers and marketers of gambling equipment. So go ahead, slap on that headset and scream at your loved ones while threading through midtown traffic. And if you must drink while doing so, drink responsibly!
