Doctors Warn of "Illegal Botox Scammers"

Categories: Featured

botox.jpgThere's a "Physicians Coalition for Injectable Safety," apparently, and its spokesman, Dr. Jeffrey M. Kenkel ("Beauty and Science Through Compassionate Care"), tells us to watch out for "disreputable injectors and counterfeit, imported or unapproved injectables." The Coalition has some fun statistics, e.g. "40.6% of consumers reported being unsure about the safety of injectables in a party setting."

But you can't be too careful: a Houston doctor recently got two years in the pen for shooting patients up, unbeknownst to them, with a Botox substitute "not approved for human use." The Coalition suggests you "not accept bargain prices or deep discounts" on Botox, and "not act on impulse when you choose injectables."
