Former Lt. Gov Now Battling Infectious Diseases

betsyross.jpgRemember Lieutenant Governor Betsy Ross McCaughey? In the 1990s she was elevated by her anti-health-care New Republic article into conservative prominence and loaded onto George Pataki's gubernatorial ticket, but fought with Pataki, married a billionaire, failed to be renominated for a second term, tried to run as a Democrat for Governor, and faded from view.

If you want to catch up with the former Lt. Gov., now Chairman/Founder of the Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths, she will be at the High School of Health Professions & Human Services at 345 East 15th Street on Thursday at 8 a.m., where as "Principal for the Day" she will educate the students to "make hygiene a central part of medicine." She also serves as a fellow at the rightwing Hudson Institute. Well, Jimmy Carter built houses, and we were once in a rock band; the last few years have been hard on all of us.
