NBA Union Square Event "Lame," Rainy
The NBA held a promotional "Tip Off" event in Union Square today, with celebrities including Spike Lee, Walt Frazier, and Scottie Pippen on hand to help locals "check out the new look Knicks" (which apparently will not include Patrick Ewing Jr.). The Daily Snowman found it "too lame for words... I stood in line in Union Square Park for about an hour and none of those people were to be seen." They still seemed to draw a crowd during the day, but by the time we got there and snapped this picture, there were only a few folks left on the makeshift blacktop, attempting free throws for Knicks tickets and other valuable prizes.
