New, Lamer Version of Fame Planned

kidsfromfame.jpgA remake of Fame is taking shape, with a bunch of youngsters we've never heard of but who are probably famous to you (e.g. Kherington Payne from "So You Think You Can Dance") slated to play the star-struck kids learning about life and dancing in traffic at New York's High School for the Performing Arts (now LaGuardia Arts, and in a different location; Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis HS occupies the old site). It will be directed by Kevin Tancharoen ("The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll"). Debbie Allen may do a cameo. Next up: Saturday Night Fever starring Shia LaBeouf.
