New TKTS Booth Opens: Takes Credit Cards, Stamina
Broadway baby Bernadette Peters and Mayor Bloomberg tossed confetti at the opening of the new TKTS booth at Father Duffy Square yesterday. The new unit has more room for line-standers, a glass roof, and (big news) the ability to take credit cards. We doubt this will speed the queues, though -- the average wait time is generally described at 15-30 minutes, which is optimistic -- so you might consider using an online discount club, unless you enjoy eavesdropping on tourists or collecting handouts for Perfect Crime, which come to think of it is a perfectly pleasant way to spend an autumn afternoon.
