Original Carvel Stand Closes, Nation Mourns

The first Carvel frozen custard stand was in Hartsdale, New York, and its closing this weekend drew notice from WCBS, amNY, the Lower Hudson Valley Journal News, the Associated Press, WABC, the New York Times, the New York Daily News, et alia. The owner says rent, taxes, and expenses drove it out of business, and now the roadside stand will become a Japanese steakhouse.
