While both Alain Robert (l.) and Renaldo Clarke (r.) climbed the stupid ladder-like facade of the New York Times building on June 5, their cases have been treated differently by the justice system, the Times reports. Though both had causes (global warming for Robert, malaria for Clarke) and neither had a permit, Robert got charged by a grand jury with a simple disorderly conduct violation, whereas Clarke's grand jury dished up three charges including reckless endangerment, which could put him in jail for a year. "I guess they bought the first guy’s claim that he’s Mr. Experienced Climber," said Clarke's lawyer. Also, um, er, (taps photo, whistles "Dixie").
