90210, The Final Frontier: New Star Trek Reduced to Its Essence

You've probably heard of that "leaked" trailer for the new Star Trek movie directed by J.J. Abrams, which portrays the Enterprise crew as hormone-addled alpha teens, causing nerd meltdowns in every corner of the internet. Now someone has mashed the thing into Star Trek 90210, with appropriate theme music and bits from the young actors' other work added to make it look like more of a romp.
We're not sure why no one draws the more obvious parallel -- that is, to "Smallville": Characters that were once portrayed as upright and duty-driven are now shown working their way through rites of passage, during which they also beat up bad guys. Maybe it gets better, but so far it looks like they remade "Dragnet" as "21 Jump Street."
