Bullies' Brains Happy at Pain, Says Study
The University of Chicago has been scanning the brains of "unusually aggressive youth." They find that the parts of these wild boys' brains (the amygdala and ventral striatum) that are stimulated by "rewards" -- as happens with normal people when they are hugged, praised, or have just ingested cocaine -- are for them stimulated when they watch videos of "someone inflicting pain on another person." If you're curious about that footage, the U of C reveals that the young psychos were neurologically gratified when people "endured pain accidentally, such as when a heavy bowl was dropped on their hands, and intentionally, such as when a person stepped on another’s foot." This explains the popularity of reality television and Donald Trump, and perhaps this blog.
