Voice Wins Again (And Shrinks)
TOP TABLOID AGAIN, The Village Voice last Friday in Syracuse was named number one tabloid in New York State. The award, a plaque and a certificate, for "outstanding achievement in the field of journalism," was given to the New York Press Association to The Voice for the second time in three years. The Voice, which was established in 1955, also placed second in two specific categories - "Best Front Page" and "Excellence in Advertising" (tie). This week coincidentally, The Village Voice, with its paid circulation pushing up - largest of any community weekly in the state - moves to a print shop with a high-speed rotary printing press. Therefore the smaller page size and slight change in typography.
