Locals Spend Less on Thanksgiving, Says Poll

Categories: Featured
pilgrim.jpgEarly reports show that people spent money this Halloween, despite everything. But Thanksgiving spending may show a drop, at least in New York: a new Marist poll says that 47 percent of New Yorkers planned to spend less on Thanksgiving this year than last. In the rest of America, we suppose ordinary families will sell one of their SUVs to buy turkey bunting, inflatable pilgrims and crap like that.

Also, the empty city streets last night and today are apparently deceiving, as 54 percent of New Yorkers say they're going to celebrate Thanksgiving at home rather than on the road, and 52 percent even say they'll watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.
