Looks Like Diaz is Still Splintered -- Denies Deal with Smith

diazleft.jpgThe Examiner told us this morning that Ruben Diaz had made a separate peace with Majority Leader hopeful Malcolm Smith and the Democrats in the State Senate -- but Diaz, as you'll see at the Examiner's update, says he's not on board -- and he's apparently surprised that Hiram Monserrate allegedly is. I have not comitted myself to anybody..." Diaz reiterated his implacable opposition to gay marriage, which is thought to be the sticking point between himself and the main body of the Democrats who are trying to line up the votes to make Smith Majority Leader.
