Rockefeller in West Virginia, Warner in East Virginia

mwarner.jpgMark Warner is in as Virginia Senator. Jim Gilmore, before his recent stint as contender with Rudolph Giuliani for most belligerent Republican Presidential Candidate of 2008, had been the state's Governor, but so had Warner, and Warner has the same last name as a former Virginia Senator. DC's WTOP says ticket-splitters put Warner over the top, so don't read too much into it. (On the other hand, they're showing on TV long, refugee-like lines of black people who presumably got on queue before the 7 o'clock deadline. So go ahead and read -- it's fundamental!)

Republican Jay Rockefeller held his seat in West Virginia because the courts ruled that his loyal citizens would each be credited with a full rather than three-fifths of a vote.
