Who Says Print is Dead? Part I: Angelina Jolie Edition

jolie.jpgThe New York Times reports that, in exchange for first photos of Brad Pitt's and Angelina Jolie's recently-born twins and a post-partum interview, People magazine had to promise that its coverage of Brangelina "would be positive, not merely in that instance but into the future." Among other things, the magazine couldn't say "Brangelina." The Times also describes a collaboration between Jolie and Us magazine on what were made to seem candid paparazzi shots of Jolie playing with her kid Maddox.

The hillbilly yahoos who endlessly tells us print is dead will not read this, as they only ever see those bits of the New York Slimes offered by rightbloggers as evidence of liberal perfidy. But they will continue to pick up People and Us at the checkout when next they visit the general store for chaw and ammunition, and will continue to do so as long as they need something to keep their thighs warm in the outhouse. Print is not dead by a long shot.
