Bloggers Now Eligible for Pulitzers

Editor and Publisher announces that the Pulitzer Prize committees will now consider online-only news outlets for the prestigious journalism prizes. They also stipulate -- prohibitively, for most such outlets -- that they are still mainly interested in "original news reporting," which means we'll probably be nominating Candice Giove's Scientology stories rather than our own fanciful posts on, say, the New Depression and crap like that.

We would also like to nominate some of the public-service journalism of rightbloggers we've followed this year -- their dogged pursuit of the Michelle Obama tapes (domestic and imported), their quest for justice in the Obama-mugging of Ashley Todd, and their investigation of Obama's citizenship have given us more pleasure than anything else we've read all year.
