Golden Globe Nominees Up; Plus, Clint Sings!

Categories: Featured
grantorinosings.jpgThank God for awards season, which provides us with lists and glamor, both of which we're told readers like. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Golden Globules, which splits its best picture nominees into "drama" and "comedy or musical" categories, gives us The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon, The Reader, Revolutionary Road and Slumdog Millionaire in the former and Burn After Reading, Happy-Go-Lucky, In Bruges, Mamma Mia! and Vicky Christina Barcelona in the latter.

As is traditional, the comedy category is hella weak, allowing Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman Best Actress and Actor nominations for Last Chance Harvey. Since the Globes are more comprehensive than most critics' awards, they bring to our attention that Bruce Springsteen has a song in The Wrestler and Clint Eastwood one in Gran Torino, from which you can hear Clint "sing" a verse here. It makes his vocal performance in Paint Your Wagon sound like Pavarotti. Full list of nominees here.
