matisyahu.jpgSundown took us into Hanukkah and, keeping with our ecumenical theme, we note that Matisyahu, the Crown Heights Chabad-Lubavitcher reggae star, will play a Festival of Lights concert series next week in Williamsburg. ("Compared to Christmas, Hanukkah has always lacked star power -- until now," wrote the Brooklyn Paper about the gig last week.)

Voz is Neias quizzes New Yorkers on the proper spelling of the holiday's name (Barbara, who agrees with ours, says "Hanukkah with an 'H' seems happy, hip and generous!"), and reports that a 23-year-old Toronto man won a holiday latke-eating contest in Lake George, New York with a record 46 potato pancakes. And "in honor of the festival of lights," Geeks of Doom offers eight flaming takes on Jewish superhero Moon Knight.
