Mets Obtain Putz

Categories: Baseball, Featured
putz.jpgThe Mets needed a good setup man to go with their closer, and seem to have found one in the amusingly named J.J. Putz, formerly of the Mariners, obtained in a complicated deal in which the Mets also got outfielder Jeremy Reed and another middle reliever, Sean Green, from the Mariners. The Mets sent long reliever Aaron Heilman, outfielder Endy Chavez, and first baseman Mike Carp to Seattle, with another Mets reliever, Joe Smith, and Seattle infielder Luis Valbuena going to Cleveland, and the Mariners getting Cleveland outfielder Franklin Gutierrez. Basically it looks like a "we're sick of them" deal all around.
