After all the insanity that's been associated with Michael Jackson, we sincerely don't know what to make of the
widely reported claim that he's suffering from
alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency, a rare and serious genetic condition affecting the lungs, blood, and liver, that he needs a lung transplant badly, and that the recent pictures of
Jackson in a wheelchair were not just another weird bit of self-presentation. Someone at the
Daily News comments section claims his brother died of the illness and disputes Jackson's diagnosis as reported in newspapers, but that's three kinds of unreliable. So we'll just wish Jackson well, as we do all our fellow creatures, and hope to see him
dancing on the roof of a car soon.
