While the police comb for clues in the
disappearance of Laura Garza, their prime suspect, Michael Mele, faces new charges of public masturbation in New Jersey. The Paramus police issued a warrant based on DNA evidence made available by the Garza investigation to match Mele to a 2005 case in which a heretofore unidentified male
ejaculated onto a public bench on which a child was sitting, says the
New York Times. Mele, now in custody in Rockland County, is on probation for a separate 2007 PM incident at the Palisades Center Mall.
