Write Your Wish on Times Square Confetti, Thanks to Weird New Candy

confettiblast.jpgTimes Square is getting all kinds of corporate wonderfulness this New Year's Eve. Along with the charming Charmin toilets, revelers can now have their new year's wishes inscribed on Times Square confetti, courtesy of the Mars candy company in association with the Times Square Alliance.

From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Times Square Information Center, or anytime online, you may go to the "Wishing Wall" and submit a hope, dream, yearning, etc., which will then be printed on one of the thousands of paper fragments that will be dropped on the crowds at midnight, December 31. (We have successfully submitted our own: "The man next to you is a terrorist. Kill him.")

The stunt is a promotion for the new 3 Musketeers candy bar, 3 Musketeers Mint, which the press release assures us has "45 percent less fat" than ordinary bars and "makes it easy to keep that New Year's resolution" -- presumably about losing weight, which we don't doubt, as even the mere description of 3 Musketeers Mint ("mint nougat dipped in luscious dark chocolate") effectively suppresses our appetite for candy or anything else.
