Astroland Rocket Removed
They took the iconic rocket ship off the top of Gregory & Phil's at Coney Island's Astroland. Captain Nemo and Pablo Jonesy of the Coney Island Message Board took photos. The rocket premiered in 1962 as a ride, Astroland's first, that simulated space flight, but became a decoration in the early 70s. This rocket is said to be in custody of the Coney Island History Project; no word yet as to its disposition.
