Bloomberg Guys Give Up Yankee Suite They Bribed So Hard For
Even our shameless elected leaders occasionally feel the need to pull back on their graft and avarice, at least when it has become common knowledge. Members of the Bloomberg Administration, you may recall, received access to a luxury suite in the new Yankee Stadium in exchange for parking spaces and millions of dollars in bond approvals, basically using public trusts to gain themselves some treats. Today the Administration announced that they would forego the luxury accommodations, though it is not expected that the Yankees will give up their end of the deal. Boy, those guys know how to trade!
Even better -- seats at the new Yankee Stadium will be only $1.10 for the grandstand and 25 cents for the bleachers. Well, at least for an exhibition series against the Cubs on April 3 and 4 they will be, in memory of the price of Yankee seats back when the first Yankee Stadium opened in 1923. Regular season seats will cost you between $20 and $2,500. And if you want a luxury suite -- well, whattaya got?
