Flight 1549: Engine Found, Feather Filed, Tom Cruise Interested

sullenberger.jpgYesterday they found the missing jet engine from Flight 1549 at the bottom of the Hudson River. Even more exciting: on the other engine, they found a feather. So we guess pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger wasn't lying about that flock of geese after all! Just to make sure, they're sending DNA found on the engine, and on other parts of the plane, to the USDA, and the feather to "bird identification experts at the Smithsonian," says ABC News.

Meanwhile Sullenberger, who spent Tuesday at the Inauguration, is expected to return to his home in Danville, California Saturday, where he will receive an official hero's welcome from his fellow villagers on the Town Green at 400 Front Street at 1 p.m. Sullenberger has received various honors already, including the interest of Tom Cruise, who says he wants to play Sullenberger in a movie.
