Patriotic American and pornographer Larry Flynt has done the country some service. He exposed and blocked would-be Speaker of the House
Bob Livingstone, and made a porno with a girl who
looks like Sarah Palin. Now he needs something from us. Flynt is asking for a
$5 billion bailout of the porn industry. "People are too depressed to be sexually active," explains Flynt. "This is very unhealthy as a nation... It's time for congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America." (Flynt is joined in his request by Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis, which we think lowers the tone.) Well, it would certainly be more dignified than
bailing out journalism. But if porn needs a bailout so badly, how come so much of it is
free?
