Queens Man Busted for Pimping 14-Year-Old on Craigslist

A 25-year-old Queens man was indicted today on charges that he pimped a 14-year-old girl that he met on social networking websites late last year. The girl was 13 and living in an out-of-state group home when she met the defendant, Jamaal Watkins, on the sites CrushSpot and MySpace, according to the D.A.'s office. Watkins allegedly lured the girl to New York, where he took pictures of her in lingerie and put them up in the "Dates" section of Craigslist. Watkins allegedly raped the girl and forced her to go on 11 "dates" a day between November 11, 2008, and January 2 of this year. In total, the girl was made to go on 500 such encounters. She allegedly had to beg Watkins for clothing and water. The victim was picked up in early January at the Par Motor Inn, on Parsons Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens. Watkins will go to court in late April, where he faces up to fifteen years in prison on various charges.
