Brewer Stomps Bedbugs

What's worse than being out of a job and having your home values plummet, all at the same time? Easy: bedbugs.
These rapacious little buggers are still on the march, reports Upper West Side council member Gale Brewer, who will hold hearings later this month to get the city on the case.
Brewer recommends creation of a Bed Bug Task Force to stomp out these pests, as well as passage of a long-pending billto ensure that greedy merchants who sell used mattreses (we'd love to see who their lobbyist is) tuck them inside a bug-proof cover. To that end, Brewer has announced a February 24 hearing of three separate committees -- Consumer Affairs, Sanitation, and Health.
