Valentine's Day, like all holidays (and all other days), is a good excuse for politicking, as these RNC Valentines show. Councilman Jimmy Vacca (above center) engaged in a more charming sort of outreach, sponsoring a Valentine's Day party at RAIN Middletown Plaza Senior Center in the Bronx this week, with an oldies band, refreshments, and carnations which Vacca and councilmember Eric Gioia (above right) handed out to grateful seniors.
The Parks Department offers you several Valentine's Day options, including a Rock the Ages Dance for adults and seniors in Staten Island ("Wear your nostalgic clothes from the 50s, 60s, and 70s and win prizes"), readings of nature poetry in Queens' Forest Park, and a romantic Valentine's Day Hike in Inwood Hill Park.
