Bernie Madoff's liquidators have released a list of his official victims, which the
Post obligingly
makes public as a
large pdf file. Look for your friends! Interestingly, a few people who'd previously told us they were Madoff victims don't appear on it. But Mets owner Fred Wilpon, and his company Sterling Equities, appear hundreds of times (once as "Sterling Equities Employees Retirement Plan) -- guess he
and his friends got
bit good. So did
Frank Mantovani. And wait, is it
that Howard Stern?
Guess not. Other piquant names: American Committee for Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem, Inc; Madoff accountants
Paul Konigsberg and
Sosnick Bell; Brandeis University; John Malkovich (of Westport, Connecticut!); Empire State Carpenters Pension Fund; the Judaic Heritage Foundation; St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale; West Villagers
Ted Story and Cynthia Crane; and loads of Madoffs. Lots of funds, estates, family trusts, foundations, etc. No wonder the schnook is wearing a
bullet-proof vest.
