An NYPD dispatcher recently spent a torrid summer in Queens trading sexy emails and phone calls and, most regrettably, child porn with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl. Naturally his correspondent, "Angie," turned out to be a cop, and Ira Shimshi (or "Dirtyoldira," as he was known in chat), wound up
arrested in August at a New Jersey mall where he was waiting for Angie to show up. Today Shimshi, now a former dispatcher,
pleaded guilty to federal charges of traveling in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a person whom he believed was a minor, which carries a maximum penalty of 30 years, and distributing child porn, which carries a minimum penalty of five years and from which there is no parole.
