Padavan Almost Certainly Wins State Senate Race

The Board of Elections hasn't certified it yet and, as we have seen in Minnesota, anything can happen, but it looks like state senator Frank Padavan has won his election against James Gennaro and will rejoin his colleagues in Albany one of these days, representing the 11th District in Queens. The final ballot review shows him holding a 578-vote lead, and Gennaro has conceded, albeit ingraciously. Gennaro never led in the count, and extended the process with a lawsuit last month. In case you're confused, and who would blame you, this isn't about a special election, but the one we had over three months ago.
