The Mets have been so busy
signing relievers that they almost forgot to
re-sign Oliver Perez. It's good news for Mets fans that today they reportedly locked the starter into a 3-year, potentially $36 million contract. In 2006 the Mets brought Perez on as a 2-10 washout from Pittsburgh, and he manned up in that year's NLCS. He's been good if a touch fragile since, and he's young (28) and healthy. Now all we have to do if
get CitiGroup's name off the new ballpark, and get the Obama Administration to nationalize it so we can
afford to attend games.
