Brooklyn Museum "Suggests" Youse Guys Pay More, See?

brooklynmuseumfront.jpg

Yeah, it sucks that the Brooklyn Museum has raised its suggested admission fee from eight to ten dollars, their first such hike since 2004. But it's still a "suggested" fee -- you could just brass it out like people do at the Met and give them a dollar. They may try to guilt-trip you out of it, and they have a good case: they're more generous with free events and online treats than the Met, and they're in Brooklyn, which automatically makes them cooler and tougher. At least it's not like Chicago, where the city is threatening the Art Institute with withdrawal of free municipal services for raising its hard-and-fast $12 admission to $18. Those people are savages! Maybe you can compromise and pay the old admission fee. Things are tough all over.
