Good news, youngsters. A judge in Brooklyn has ruled that if a 17-year-old girl thinks she may be knocked up,
she should have Plan B, the so-called morning after pill, without going through the hassle of obtaining a prescription. Federal Judge Edward Korman
gave the FDA 30 days to revise its regs so that 17-year-olds can get Plan B without prescription, as adult women do. Korman slammed the "
political considerations, delays, and implausible justifications for decision-making" the Bush-era FDA availed in making Plan B extra difficult for minors to obtain. "The court recognized that the FDA favored politics over science, ideology over women's health, and violated the law in the process," said the president of the
Center for Reproductive Rights, which brought the suit. "Jesus Reagan jibber jabber shriek," some snake handler will no doubt be saying on "Nightline" tonight. The ruling comes not a moment too soon as MSNBC reports, "
