New York Fails to Make Most Dangerous State, City Lists

New York is really losing its edge. This year we again failed to make the top ten most dangerous states list. According to CQ Press' annual survey, Scenic Nevada heads the list, with top marks for motor vehicle theft and robbery, and Louisiana is number two, coming in 1, 2, and 3 in murder, assault, and burglary. Its numbers are boosted by number-one-most-dangerous-city New Orleans. New York doesn't make that list either, and nearby Ramapo is considered America's safest city. But about.com does list New York as one of the most dangerous states for lightning-related injuries. Ha! Get out your Welcome to New York Duck Motherfucker t-shirt, homes.
