Plaxico Burress Gets a Break
Plaxico Burress, the Giants wide receiver who shot himself in the leg in November and whom Mayor Bloomberg wants sent to prison for gun possession, got his case delayed till June in Manhattan Criminal Court this morning. Though celebrities tend to walk in cases like this, the smart money is betting that Burress will do some time, so Burress must savor every day of freedom his lawyers can buy him. We still haven't seen any charges against the doctor and hospital workers who treated and failed to turn Burress in, and whose arrest, conviction and imprisonment Bloomberg also demanded; maybe the Mayor can make a campaign issue out of that.
