NYU Admits, Then Rejects, 500 Students

oopscover.jpg
First came the good news: nearly 500 students received acceptance emails into NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service last Wednesday.

A half hour later came the bad news: it was all a horrible mistake and the hundreds of prospective public affairs buffs were really rejected.

Sounds like a cruel April Fools joke, but an NYU spokesman swears it was all just a "misunderstanding" and that the school regrets any "any false expectations, or disappointment this error may have caused."

One potential silver lining for all those rejected students is that at least they won't be shelling out $32,000 a year for tuition. Maybe they should take it as a sign to follow the example of these Tufts students, and get their Masters degrees in the streets for free.
