Coup in Review: Senate's Split Session May Not Count, They'll Try Again Today

coupleft.jpgGovernor Paterson says he's "disgusted" with yesterday's split session of the state senate, which went on till almost 2 a.m. with each party -- the Democrats minus Pedro Espada, and the Republicans plus Pedro Espada -- conducting its own business, sometimes simultaneously. It's not clear whether any of the legislation passed by the separate semi-senates is legit. Nonetheless they'll try it again today, with Paterson adding the gay marriage bill to the agenda, which has incensed homo-hating senator Ruben Diaz Sr. and may push him onto the Republicans-plus team. Well, at least then there'll be a clear, corrupt majority to do business.
