Though Farrah Fawcett, who has died in Santa Monica after a battle with cancer, is most widely remembered as a pin-up and jiggle girl during her Charlie's Angels heyday, it must be said that she worked hard to establish herself as a dramatic actress, even going onstage in New York (off-Broadway no less) to star in the harrowing rape drama Extremities, and earned the admiration of Robert Duvall, who cast her in The Apostle. If many of her efforts were not very successful, it is something that she made them, rather than spending her post-Angels days tanning by the pool or doing infomercials. When all is said and done, she was a pro.
