Wednesday evening about three hundred demonstrators, many wearing green, gathered in Union Square for a vigil against the continuing government crackdown in Iran. Candles were carried and laid along a green ribbon on the Square; banners in English and Farsi called on the Iranian regime to "Free All Political Prisoners," "End Torture and Killing in Iran." Also: "Long Live Freedom" and "Down With The Dictator." Demonstrators held their fingers aloft in a "V" in a long moment of silence. The event was organized by Where Is My Vote NYC.
