Mets' Nominees for Citi Field Sing-A-Long Include "This Land Is Your Land," "Curly Shuffle"
The Mets are inviting fans to vote for the official "Eighth Inning 'Sing-A-Long' Song at Citi Field," but to make sure they don't get a Hank The Angry Drunken Dwarf-style landslide for "Double Fucked By 2 Black Studs" or something like that (or "Never Gonna Give You Up," which jacked a similar poll last year), they've provided us with these nominees:
"The Curly Shuffle"
"Hooked on a Feeling"
"I Like it Like That"
"Mama Said Knock You Out"
"Meet the Mets"
"This Land is Your Land"
"Twist & Shout"
The Mets says "WFAN's Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton assisted the Mets in compiling" the list, and we'd like to know who suggested "This Land is Your Land." Any of these choices beats "Sweet Caroline," which plagued home games until recently, when the team started playing the old "Meet the Mets" anthem during the Stretch. We vote to retain that, but ask that the fans remain standing until we've gone through all the verses and refrains. Oh, the butcher and the baker and the people on the streets...
