Monserrate put out a statement saying that "Democrats today have put ourselves on the right side of reform and the right side of history" and that he is "unbought and unbossed." (Excuse us a second -- no, no, we were thinking of something else.) The Smith v. Espada lawsuit is adjourned till tomorrow and Espada is expected to come out soon and give his statement. Meanwhile and somehow, New York lumbers on without the aid of its legislators.
