A 15-year-old boy was shot twice in the torso Friday night outside a bodega at the intersection of 198th Street and Creston Avenue. He was declared dead at St. Barnabas Hospital.
News 12 named the victim as Juan Gere. Neighbors told the station that the kid was just playing basketball when two people walked up to him and shot him. They described him as a respectful youth who got along with everyone in the nabe.
