Staten Island Girl Stuck in Egypt with Expired Passport

There's a little girl who wants to come home to Staten Island, but can't. Five-year-old Jennah Farag, an American citizen, is in Egypt with her mother, naturalized citizen Rasha Farag, and has been detained by authorities because the girl's passport has expired, reports the Staten Island Advance. Customs officials would not let her board a scheduled flight home today, so a "family friend" is flying over there with a notarized statement and photos to try and expedite the process. The mother blames the fracas on "profiling." Advance comments are lively: "Why would you visit a foreign country knowing your passport is about to expire. Idiots. Keep them all over there -- we have enough idiots here already."
