Trump to Carrie Prejean: You're Fired! Gay Marriage Opponent Out as Miss California

Last month Donald Trump refused to fire Miss California USA Carrie Prejean when her old topless shots were revealed. The Miss USA contestant had rocketed to fame when she revealed herself to be against gay marriage under pageant questioning by Perez Hilton and was subsequently not elected to Miss USA, which many thought was an act of anti-anti-gay-marriage prejudice. But now Trump has cleared Prejean's firing by K2 Productions, which handles the Miss California USA franchise. "I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Fox News quotes Trump. "Unfortunately it just doesn't look like it is going to happen and I offered Keith [Lewis, K2 executive producer] my full support in making this decision."
"It has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together," says Lewis.
Prejean has been busy making TV appearances and defending her views, but apparently the pageant people thought her activities had more to do with Prejean's cause than their own. We will miss her -- here's our defense of her topless shots -- but she'll certainly be turning up plenty in conservative Christian outlets now that she's been extra-persecuted.
