Update: Gay-Bashed on Pride Weekend

gaybashsmall.jpg
Joe Holladay, the man whose gay-bashing we reported on Saturday morning, has been getting some help. Today state senator Tom Duane announced that "Mr. Holladay's case has been referred to the New York City Police Department's Hate Crimes Task Force for further investigation," and asked for any witnesses to the crime who haven't been heard from to call 1-800-577-TIPS. "Hate and prejudice of any kind are unacceptable in New York City or anywhere," said Duane, "and there is a heightened injustice that this apparently anti-gay incident occurred during Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Week."

Holladay tells us the police have been working with him; "I'm with a sketch artist now," he wrote this afternoon.
