Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested; May Have Hit 15 Stores in a Month

nypdcar2.jpg Cops may have caught a small gang that has robbed no less than 15 convenience stores in less than a month. They've suspected that the 7-11s, bodegas, gas station checkouts and other small targets in Brooklyn and Queens that have been hit since June 14 were all done by the same crew. Last night they got a break when an NYPD Auto Larceny Unit pulled over a van at 30 Avenue and 31 Street in Queens and one of the occupants tried to run. They caught him and hauled in the van and all four occupants, who were submitted to lineups. After encouraging results they arrested Lamont Adams, Willie Winston, and Joshua Walter of Queens, and James Young of Brooklyn, and charged them with robbery and weapons possession. The investigation is ongoing.
